David + Hunter

EPIC Elegance

Art Deco elegance meets modern-day flair

Brunch with mutual friends in West Palm Beach led to the love of a lifetime for David and Hunter, who are now happily married and living in Delray Beach. David, who hails from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is a boutique manager at Christian Dior; Hunter grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, and is an attorney at Cole, Scott, and Kissane. When it came to selecting their wedding destination, the couple credits their love for Miami. And when asked about choosing Kimpton EPIC Hotel as their site, the couple replies enthusiastically, “Location, location, location!” They desired something on the water and close to everything, in order to accommodate out-of-town guests. While they sought event inspiration from Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw in many regards, they chose their own signature drink: Champagne—the perfect addition to their grand celebration.

Memorable Details

The magnificent event occurred on May 19, 2018, at 6 p.m., with both the ceremony and reception taking place in the hotel’s Metropolis Ballroom. The theme was “Art Deco with a modern flair,” meaning the space was all white and beautified by flowers, candles and a mirrored dance floor that looked like water.

While sipping bubbly, guests danced the night away to songs by Beyoncé, Madonna and Cardi B. The newlyweds even changed into late-night looks: a sequined blazer for David and an animal-print jacket for Hunter. They spent their honeymoon night in the hotel’s Presidential Suite—a truly epic way to top off the event of a lifetime.

The sensational festivities were featured in the fall-winter 2019 issue of The Knot Florida, showing off highlights like the duo’s gorgeous coconut cream cake coated with layers of marble, silver leaf and black rose buttercream. Atop sequined tablecloths, exquisite centerpieces showcased a bounty of candles, white orchids, and acrylic and mirrored columns
