Restaurants in downtown Miami are known for incorporating style with the best chefs around. So, it’s no surprise that Wolfgang Birk feels at home in this international city. As Executive Chef of Area 31 and LILT Lounge, Chef Birk’s career path winds through Europe and the Caribbean to the U.S.
Graduating with honors from the Culinary Institute for Hotels and Restaurants in Pescara, Italy, Chef Birk has honed his craft at the Michelin two-starred Rino Casati in Cologne, Germany; the four-star, four diamond Condado Plaza in Puerto Rico; Stefano Battistini’s acclaimed Colors in New York; and the five-star Carenage Bay Beach & Golf Club Resort in the Grenadine Islands. He first made his mark in among restaurants in downtown Miami with the opening of the five-diamond Casa Casuarina in 2005, the same year he served as Host Chef at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival.
